Ever since I can remember I was fascinated with all the weirder things in like . Born in January 1986 on the 22nd day I was pretty much a product of the 1990s growing up in the nostalgic era. The cartoons were cool and gross and still to day I watch Pete and Pete with my son. I was an active skateboarder early in life. I had a cheap killer instinct skateboard my mom got me out of a finger hut catalog. I learned to ride that on a narrow sidewalk that went down to my neighbors house in a trailer park called Harleyway ,lol. Anyways when we moved I remember going to the skatepark for the 1st where a kid named Jason got a laugh at my skateboard. He being old he took it and broke it by stomping it I’ve a cross-tie , and that’s the day I decided to whoop that kids ass one day. And I did. In a game of skate in the same park where broke that skateboard. My friends and I was invited to his house where he had a mini ramp. While I was heading to car to leave my friends come running out of that kids house with about 7 skateboard decks Richie Rich’s parents got him threw them in the car and said GoGo! And off we went. So thanks to Jason who gave me the fire inside to get better at skating, and for giving me 7 new decks to make up for the 1 he broke 7 years earlier. So that mixed with the drawing all the time because I didn’t see my dad much and I remember him drawing me trucks and using a quarter to draw the wheels. I’d recreate that during the weeks with my mom and stepdad. I guess as a way to feel connected to him ya know. But it stuck. It got me thru school just drawing pictures for teachers or paintings to get a passing grade . High schools also where I found out what punk rock was which has a lot of influence on a lot of art I make. A punk kid from St. Pete FL came to my town and that’s a whole another story but watching him Ollie up picnic tables really added something to what my life would consist of.
