My passion for art began early in my youth.
Throughout my teens, I embraced skateboarding which fuelled my desire to explore art further and that drove me to study fine art at the Academy of Art in Venice.
A year in London as an exchange student exposed me to contrasting urban landscapes, merging historical Venice with modernity. Since then I made London and Uk my primary home.
I started my artistic journey in the early days inspired by the simplicity of minimal art and in particular Dan Flavin’s artworks with his use of colored neon lights.
I was equally drawn by pop artists such as Andy Warhol and Eduardo Paolozzi and to the chaos expressed on paintings by artists such as Willem de Kooning or giant installations of artists such as Phyllida Barlow.
The interplay between these extremes has greatly influenced my artistic perspective.
Anselm Kiefer’s work has also left a profound impact on me. His exploration of history, mythology and the human experience has enriched my artistic inspiration further.
In addition to my artistic influences, I’m deeply intrigued by the concepts of life and death, as well as the pressing issue of climate change.
These themes not only drive my creative exploration but also serve as vital sources of inspiration that inform the narratives and messages I aim to convey through my art.
Flowers, volcanoes, and emperor’s busts collectively embody the complex dance of life and death. While flowers and volcanoes illustrate the cycles of growth and destruction, the sculpted busts of emperors offer a glimpse into the passage of time and the legacies left behind. These symbols together evoke the profound interconnection between birth, decay, renewal, and the enduring impact of human existence within the broader context of the universe.
